The company follows fair trade practices, while working directly with grassroots artisans. The organization works for generating sustainable economic opportunities for underprivileged craftsmen and creates awareness for social change of communities they belong to. With steady income, parents are caring for the health, nutrition and education of their children. Families are building better homes. Women are rising out of crippling dependency to become contributors in their communities. Ecofriendly Papers specializes in manufacturing of leather Goods, Handmade Paper products and traditional Indian textile products. Our product range includes -
Leather Products –
Using skins of naturally dead cows and buffalos, artisans use age old art of Hand tooling, cutting and engraving to carve out beautiful leather products like leather notebooks and Journals, Ipad Covers, Iphone cases, passport Covers, Luggage tags, wallets, wristlets, Bags, Coasters, Belts, Visitor card holders, Trays, leather jewelry and other goods. Each piece is hand colored and stitched to perfection using minimum of machines and minimum chemicals.
Handmade Paper Products -
Ecofriendly paper manufactures tree free, 100% cotton , handmade paper, made from recycling waste cotton cloth scraps. The paper has a very rustic textile feel to its surface and has very high tensile strength, meant to last a lifetime and more. This paper is used to make products like Notebooks, Journals, Cards, Printed gift wraps, embroidered paper, decoration garlands, Boxes, paper Bags, favor boxes and other stationery items. All products are completely handmade. The hand process of paper making as well as product making generates a lot of employment to local artisans and gives their community a chance to earn respectable livelihood while preserving old traditions of paper making and book binding.
Indian textile products –
Our company uses cloth material that is available locally in the villages of Rajasthan. This fabric is hand block printed and screen printed by local artisans. Alternatively, silk and cotton sarees are recycled and hand embroidered to create stoles, scarves, fashion accessories and more. Old mirror work fabrics are also recycled to make new accessories like Journal covers, Bags, Women clutches, wallets, wristlets, coin purses, hair accessories, masks, and more. These fabrics and products have vibrant colors reflecting the vibrant culture of the desert region of Rajasthan.
